Abstract

The article deals with the evolution of political leadership in Federal Republic of Germany in the second half of XX – early XXI centuries. Based on the theory of generations, the author analyzed the work and socio-psychological profile of five groups of German politicians: «the Weimarers», «the war generation», «the generation of gunners assistants», «the generation of 68 year», «the generation of the Berlin Republic». It is concluded that there was a transition from the leader-standard-bearer to the leader-manager, who is characterized by reliance on the media, active work with civil society and rejection of the old party dogmas.
