Abstract. The article provides an analysis of the main features of German participation in the struggle against the «Islamic state» in Syria and Iraq. In this regard it considers the possibility to make use of German experience gained in Afghanistan in fighting against the structures of international terrorism in both Irak and Syria. The article traces the way Germany uses diplomatic, economic and military tools for the weakening of the «Islamic state». The author makes prognosis for German politics towards the «Islamic state».
