The article considers the situation in France linked to a growth of islamist threat in the country. Apparently, French autohrities and political community had recognized this danger for a long time and had elaborated relevant measures. However, the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015 which caused a large number of victims showed that these measures were unssufficient or inadequate. Morover, the question arrose whether it is possible to solve this problem within the framework of the political and ideological paradigma which had established in France since the days of the Third Republic. To this connexion, the article gives a review of debates on this theme at political and expert levels and practical proposals aimed at counteracting an agressive islamisme and terrorisme delivered by it.
