The paper describes how Russians perceive Czechs, as one of branches of Slavic ethnos. Historically many Czechs who belonged to different social strata and professions found themselves in Russian society and took part in its development. The problems of Czech peasants, intellectuals, legionnaires and the impact of Prague Spring ideas on Russian society are also considered.
