The article evaluates the modernization process of the party-political system in the UK at the beginning of XXI century. The main directions and aspects of legislative regulation of the activities of parties in the United Kingdom are considered. Modern trends and the rationale of the political struggle in the country and especially electoral campaigns are defined. The author identifies the key stages of the reform of the organizational structures and the governing bodies of the main British parties. The article examines main search directions for new ideological orientations and measures to strengthen social basis of the parties.
