The article attempts to analyze the current phenomenon of international relations – the development of a new geostrategic identity of Germany in the context of tectonic shifts in the Euro-Atlantic security architecture, which are occurring against the backdrop of the crisis of the Yalta-Potsdam system, requiring the creation of a new global regulatory and institutional «corset» in matrix of «Collective West», conditional «Non-West and «Global South». Multifactor analysis allows to state with confidence that a large-scale revision of the conceptual aspects of German foreign and security policy, the legitimization of the remilitarization of Germany are taking place in conditions where a stable consensus has not yet formed at the level of the decision-making system and civil society regarding the acceptability of promoting a new agenda. In this regard, Germany, in a sense, repeats the scenario of the middle of the last century, when the country’s new geostrategic identity was formed under pressure from the external environment; however, if in the middle of the 20th century the German public consciousness was literally «instilled» with the culture of pacifism and self-restraint, now Berlin needs to transform its declarative readiness for leadership into the strategic concept of «responsibility through action». At the same time, it becomes obvious that a new ideas about the role of Germany in ensuring international security and about the country’s place among the world actors will inevitably require the manifestation of political will and the abandonment of the accommodative strategy practiced by Berlin for decades in favor of a strategic vision; formation of an appropriate strategic culture in the country; profound mental changes at the societal level; rethinking attitudes towards the Bundeswehr as an important component of determining the new identity of the Berlin Republic. In this regard, for a correct foreign policy analysis of the situation, it is extremely important to consider significant perceptual issues in the current information society, when information and propaganda wars contribute to increasing antagonism and dividing the world into «us» and «them», which in the conditions of exponentially increasing competition between world powers is fraught not only with the risk of apperception, but also with the return of the logic of the system confrontation, contributing to the conservation of the current phase of the «wolf world» and preventing the development of a new global institutional and regulatory matrix.
