The article tends to determine the place of armed conflicts among the challenges in the sphere of international security. The paper gives definitions of the terms «armed conflict» and «military-political crisis», and also highlights the differences between them. The article presents the schemes of these types of military challenges regulation and determines key difficulties of this process in modern circumstances.
