Freedom of movement in the European Union: An achievement or a problem?

Abstract

The article analyses labour mobility and free movement of citizens inside the European Union as well as the current debates on their potential limitation. The impact of the 2004 and 2007 EU enlargements is exposed upon the scales of the EU citizens labour mobility. The differences are revealed between the Commission‘s approach to labour mobility and the member states’ views, who insist upon reviewing the free movement principles.
