Home migration in Russia 1990–2013: Main dimensional character and peculiarities of the «Western drift»

Abstract

In this article reasons and results of the so called Western drift, a form of exodus of population from Northern and Far East regions of the Russian Federation are analysed. It happened to come into being in 1990-th years and brought with it not only demographic, economic or social changes, but serious geopolitical ones as well.
