Abstract

Latin America is one of the priority areas of Spanish transnational corporations (TNCs). Starting with the 1980 s, Spanish business consistently expanded its presence in Latin American countries, delved into various sectors of the economy, becoming an integral part of the economic body. For many Spanish companies and banks, including the largest and high-tech companies, Latin America has become the primary source of profit. Largely due to successful operations in Latin American countries, Spanish enterprises were able to weaken the destructive effects of the 2008–2009 crisis. At the same time, the emergence in Latin America it’s own TNCs – so called multilatinas – gave rise to a new phenomenon: the export of capital from Latin America to Spain. The result is the formation of Ibero-American business space with a wide network of inter-corporate relationships.
