This paper reviews the dynamics of the immigration flows in Italy in 2014–2015. The regulation of the migration crisis by the Italian government on the national and supranational levels is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the attitude of the political forces and Italian society towards the current processes. The demographic, social and cultural changes, caused by the rise in the number of the immigrants residing in the country, is also examined.
